Minister of Health Tyler Shandro issued the following statement on Alberta Rural Health Week, May 24-28:

High rates of vaccination among residents and staff at continuing care facilities means families will soon be able to more easily visit their loved ones.

As part of its relaunch strategy, the Alberta government has developed a plan to lift some restrictions on non-urgent surgeries and other regulated professional health services.

New funding will increase staffing of health-care aides to alleviate pressures in contracted continuing care facilities.
