Minister of Health Jason Copping issued the following statement on Rare Disease Day:

Alberta’s government will invest $1.8 billion to redevelop and expand the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre as part of the province’s strategy to increase health care capacity, providing central Albertans with better hospital care for years to come.

Applications open Feb. 1 for a program providing benefits to bring new family physicians to rural Alberta.

Expanding contracts with four chartered surgical facilities (CSF) will increase the number of cataract and other ophthalmological procedures for Albertans.

A 10-acre parcel of land in north Red Deer will be the new home of the 75-bed recovery community.

Effective immediately, every Albertan who received their first dose in April or earlier can book a second dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
